HiSense EPON

10G EPON can be broadly categorized into the following three standards defined by IEEE 1904.1:

• SIEPON Package-A (DPoE - DOCSIS Provisioning over EPON)
• SIEPON Package-B (NTT - Nippon Telegraph and Telephone EPON)
• SIEPON Package-C (CTC - China Telecom Corporation EPON)

While commonly available HiSense EPON ONTs are SIEPON-C, they can be switched to SIEPON-A by installing custom firmware. This provides compatibility with many EPON networks, including Free/Iliad network EPON and au-hikari network EPON.
